Short biographical notes (300 words) Mònica finished her PT studies in 1999. Since 2001 she is part of the team of the Elena Salvà Institut.

Her work in the clinic consists in treating scoliotic patients, children, adolescents and adults, using the Schroth Method combined with other techniques such as muscular chains, Feldenkrais and osteopathy. Moreover, she treats patients with any other pathology which requires the intervention of osteopathy and/or physical therapy treatment in infants, children, adolescents and adults.

She was combining her clinical work with Dr. Rigo’ assistance from 2005 to 2010, being responsible for the database, taking antropometric measurements, using the Formetric system and interpreting reports, the scoliometer, the Saunders tool, the Spine Scan and the Ortelius system, and measuring the X-rays. She also gives the Educational sessions to the patients and she introduces them to the Schroth method training.

In 2001 she started to spread the Schroth Method in Mexico and USA. In 2004 she was involved, as instructor, in the BSPTS (Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School) and helping some PTs with tutorial classes in their places.
Since 2010-11 she is a Collaborator Teacher at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC).

Apart of her clinical and educational work she is involved in the Society on Scoliosis Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT) being Member founder of the SOSORT.
Since april 2008, she also collaborates as Chairman of the SOSORT’s Newsletter.
She is Past-member of the SOSORT Board (2009-2011).

Since 2010 she is also collaborating with the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Osteopathy Register (ROE).
